Stuff That You May Be Looking For

Group Theme: While we appreciate JK Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, the group is actually focused on Less Wrong's fanfiction, "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality". Less Wrong's work is a scientific, rationalistic retelling of Harry's story.

:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred:How to Submit: The usual way. Any number of submissions allowed, but keep in mind that they must relate either to "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality" or Less Wrong (Eliezer Yudkowsky).

Deviants

Hey, guys!

I'm afraid to say that the submissions to the group, which have until this point been automatic, are now submitted to vote. (or, at least, I hope they are) Which means that while you can still submit as much as you like, there'll be a delay between when you send something and when it actually gets accepted. I'm online a lot, so it shouldn't take more than 24 hours to approve...

This has happened because, as you may have noticed, we had somebody submit fanfiction which wasn't related to Yudkowsky or MOR in any way. I'm sorry about that. It's been deleted and it shouldn't happen again (unless I got the settings wrong).

A pensieve viewable memory can easily tell whether Hermione's memories were altered or not. An unaltered memory produces a silvery colored string of some sort. An altered one is, if I remember correctly, cloudy and yellow.

Really? I don't remember anything about that...

Then again, in that case, people like Lucius Malfoy wouldn't have been able to claim they were Imperiused. If they had created their own false memories or become Occlumens to avoid Veritaserum, it would not stand up to the Pensieve.

It was in the original books.

Specifically, it was in the book where Slughorn was temporarily the potions prof.

Ooh, thanks.

It was only a piss-poor memory alternation that causes the foggy stuff. A good alteration or total memory erasure wouldn't cause that.
